WCS launches medals marking 65th anniversary

The Waterloo Coin Society unveiled Jan. 9 medals celebrating the society’s 65th anniversary this year, the first produced since 2009.

According to club member Peter Becker, a total of 180 medals (38 mm) were struck. He said the four medal sets of which there were only 20 produced, sold out quickly at the club’s first meeting on 2024. Beckere added the two antique finish medals (50 each) are being made available for purchase as a set or individually as supplies last for $20 each or $35 for the pair.

To purchase, medal collectors can contact Brent Mackie at treasurer@waterloocoinsociety.com for further details and payment options.

The medal launch was also captured on video by WCS member CAD Roll Hunter and posted on YouTube, with more than 500 hits to date.
