The Week in Shows (April 28-May 4)

There are three major coin shows taking place in two Canadian provinces this week.

First up is today’s Apex 2019 Stamp and Coin Show, which is being hosted by the Ajax-Pickering Stamp Club at the Pickering Recreation Complex on 1867 Valley Farm Rd., in Pickering, Ont.

Open from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., the show boasts free admission and parking and will feature club lots plus 10-cent books and youth tables for young collectors.

TORONTO COIN EXPO

On May 3-4, the Toronto Coin Expo will return to Ontario’s capital city.

The show, which is held at the Toronto Reference Library on 789 Yonge St. in Toronto, Ont., will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on May 3 and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on May 4. Admission is $6 (and children aged 16 and under are free).

In addition to a nearly 40-dealer bourse, the show will feature a series of educational workshops that are free to attend for children as well as paid admissions to the two-day show.

CLUB DE MONNAIE SHOW

Rounding out the week in shows, the Club de Monnaie Laval and Rive-Nord Third Annual Show will be held May 4 at College Citoyen on 4001 Blvd. Ste-Rose in Laval, Qué.

Organized by the Club de Monnaie Laval and Rive-Nord, the show will feature collector exhibits plus more than 40 dealer tables of coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, Royal Canadian Mint products, Canadian Tire money and more. The bourse will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

Organizers also said a free gift will be given to the show’s first 50 attendees.
