Richard Stockley sells book business

Long-time numismatic literature dealer Richard Stockley, of Senneville, Qué., recently sold his business “lock, stock and barrel” to Howard Engel, of Winnipeg, Man.

While Stockley and his wife are retiring and moving to Belize in Central America this fall, they will be attending this summer’s Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) Convention in Calgary “with selections from two newly acquired collections.”

Engel, who’s a member of the RCNA as well as his local Manitoba Coin Club, will continue to use the name Richard Stockley Books following the couple’s retirement. Engel was one of Stockley’s regular customers beginning in 2013, when Engel first met the bookseller at Torex in Toronto.

He is also a member of the Canadian Centennial Collectors Club, the Canadian Association of Token Collectors and the American Numismatic Association.
