Reward offered in Newfoundland theft

East-coast dealer Bert Warr Jr., of Goose Bay, N.L., has offered a “sizeable reward” for any information about a theft at his residence this January.

“Early this morning, we had a break-in to our apartment,” Warr wrote in a Jan. 4 Facebook post, adding the perpetrator stole a “large quantity” of banknotes plus silver and gold coins and bars. “We are offering a sizeable reward to any information which leads to the arrest of anyone involved.”

Warr has the serial numbers for the stolen banknotes and asked anyone with information about the theft to contact him at 1-709-899-1343. “All info will be held in strictest confidence.”

Warr is also a well-known philatelist specializing in Newfoundland stamps and postal history.
