RCNA officials continue planning 2022 convention

Organizers of the 2022 Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) Convention, to be hosted by the local Ottawa Numismatic Society (ONS), were “extremely busy” through March as they worked to finalize this year’s show, slated for July 20-24 in the nation’s capital.

“Unfortunately, the impact of the COVID pandemic continues to hamper progress,” RCNA President Steve Woodland, who’s also the convention chair and ONS past president, said in late March. “This means we are unable to determine the costs for all our activities,” and a registration form remains unavailable at the time of printing.

“We hope it will be available soon and we are delaying the publication of the April/May issue of the CN Journal as a result,” Woodland added.

Until then, all available convention information, including the current program of activities, is posted on the RCNA website, rcna.ca.

The convention will take place at the Ottawa City Centre hotel on Lyon Street North, just a few hundred metres from Parliament Hill. As announced earlier this year, the convention’s educational symposium is planned for July 20-21; the bourse for July 22-24; the club delegates ’breakfast on July 22; and the annual general meeting and RCNA banquet on July 23 (“2022 RCNA convention still in planning,” CCN Vol. 59 #23).
