This May, the Ontario Numismatic Association (ONA) held its first virtual “Speakeasy,” a pandemic initiative to give collectors and dealers a forum to discuss the hobby.
Starting in June, the ONA Speakeasy will be held on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
“If there is one thing I have learned during these difficult times, it is people need to be able to communicate and socialize,” said ONA President Sean Sinclair, who added the idea mirrors the Waterloo Coin Society’s monthly “Coffee House” in that it’s an unstructured meeting centred on discussions but also with short presentations.
The association also recently launched its ONA Today podcast, hosted by Second Vice-President Rick Dupuis.
