Mint’s Winnipeg plant to ‘open doors’ to public May 25-26

The Royal Canadian Mint will host an “Open Doors” event at its Winnipeg facility on May 25-26. The Manitoba Coin Club noted in its May issue that club members will host an information table during this event. Renowned for its innovation in circulation coin design, the Winnipeg plant, established in 1976, operates as a high-tech, high-volume manufacturing facility where all Canadian circulation coins are minted, in addition to coins for various other countries worldwide.

In its May newsletter, the Manitoba club also posted great news that it has received 23 new member applications since the year began. Notably, about half of these new memberships were acquired during the club’s Spring Coin Show this April.
