The Canadian Numismatic Company’s Marathon Sale is showcasing over 1,200 numismatic and military lots in its online auction from June 7-9.
This June sale features two major collections along with selections from more than 40 other consignors across North America.
Highlights include several rare and unique items, such as an 1871 $10 Commercial Bank of Windsor note. Graded Choice Very Fine-25 by Legacy Currency Grading, the note is fully signed by Walter Lawson and G. P. Payzant. This is the first note of its kind that TCNC has had the opportunity to offer in its sales. The Quebec auction house describes the note as “a new find, possibly unique and among the highest rarities,” with a pre-sale estimate of $25,000-plus.
The description for Lot 892 states, “A solid VF specimen, the note is extremely well preserved and visually outstanding. Its rarity is off the scale, making it a prime candidate for inclusion in the finest collections. This note would be a significant addition to a major Canadian museum, financial institution collection, or a standout highlight in a personal collection. It is among the most impressive and significant banknotes we have ever sold in our auctions. This is a ‘tasty’ find for any serious collector and will undoubtedly be a treasured addition to their collection. Expect strong bidding for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!”
The sale also offers a vast assortment of bulk lots, including coins and banknotes, a wide variety of war medals and related items, as well as world coins, US gold, and much more.
