On April 9, the Manitoba Coin Club (MCC) will host its first in-person meeting of the year at the Royal Canadian Mint’s Winnipeg facility.
The three-hour outing – slated for 1 p.m.-4 p.m. (CT) – will include club updates, a president’s message, executive business, a member presentation on nickel dollars, a show-and-tell session plus an auction.
“This membership meeting will not have a virtual component at this time, but future meetings may be given consideration of adopting a combined in-person and Zoom component,” according to a statement issued by the club, which also recently launched the MCC Coffee House, a virtual meeting format originated by the Waterloo Coin Society, based in Ontario. “This is a relaxed casual gathering of chatting, sharing and discussion.”
The virtual MCC event will be held on March 28 at 6 p.m. (CT). Visit manitobacoinclub.org for full details. The Mint’s Winnipeg facility strikes all Canadian circulation and foreign coins while the Ottawa facility produces the country’s numismatic and commemorative currency.
