Laval/North Shore Coin Club ‘dynamic’

By Richard Dagenais

The Laval/North Shore Coin Club (LNSCC) was founded in 2016 by Michel Robert and Stephane Lamont. Since then, it has never looked back, gathering members and growing as it continues to move forward.

Montreal’s Laval/North Shore region is massive but offered no options to coin collectors spread out over more than 25 municipalities.

In the club’s first year, Robert points out there were 25 to 30 people attending meetings on a regular basis. He notes members were eager to meet and eager to learn more.

Lamont has been associated with several other coin clubs around the province of Quebec including Granby, Boucherville, and St-Hyacinthe but, he insists, LNSCC is unique.

Robert, who serves as club vice-president and works as a commercial sales director, agrees.

“Our members don’t just pay their annual fee and settle for seeing others once a year at our show. They come, they speak, they ask questions, they’re really involved, they’re really contributors more than just members.”
