The International Bank Note Society (IBNS) has named Ontario numismatist Brent Mackie as one of its seven regional directors.
Mackie, who also heads the society’s recently launched Ontario chapter, will now be responsible for IBNS affairs in Canada, the United States and Bermuda in the Central, Eastern, Atlantic and Newfoundland time zones. IBNS regional director Ron Richardson, of British Columbia, is responsible for the Mountain and Pacific time zones in Canada and the United States.
The other regional directors include Jonathan Callaway, of the United Kingdom; Thomas Augustsson, of Sweden; Arsentiy Khonin, of Kazakhstan; Anthony James, of Australia; and Alexandre Costa, of Brazil. In addition to Ontario, the west-coast city of Vancouver is home to the only other IBNS chapter in Canada.
