Greysheet has launched a new podcast series dedicated to exploring the storied legacy of A Guide Book of United States Coins, widely known as the “Red Book.”
The Red Book Podcast, hosted by Whitman Brands Publisher and President/CEO John Feigenbaum alongside Jeff Garrett, editor and president of Mid-American Rare Coin Galleries, aims to delve into the rich history and fascinating updates of this iconic numismatic publication.
The podcast comes as anticipation builds for the 79th edition of the Red Book, set to debut in spring 2025. This edition marks a significant milestone with a complete redesign, a larger format, and updates that include over 12,000 listings and revised pricing courtesy of the Greysheet team.
“The Red Book has an endless number of stories and angles to explore,” said Feigenbaum. “This podcast gives us a unique opportunity to share those stories and connect with the hobby in a fresh way.”
The first two episodes, now available on YouTube, have already garnered positive feedback from listeners, with a 100 per cent approval rating in the “likes” department. Episode 1 introduces the enhancements in the forthcoming 2026 edition, while Episode 2 dives deeper into the details of pricing updates and new features, such as designations for full band dimes and full head quarters.
Garrett emphasized the podcast’s role in celebrating numismatics: “The Red Book is the bible of the rare coin industry, and this podcast allows us to bring its legacy to life. Our goal is to explore a virtually limitless range of topics and invite special guests to share their stories and expertise. It’s an exciting project that truly celebrates numismatics.”
