First Canadian chapter to join IBNS based in Vancouver

The inaugural meeting of the International Bank Note Society’s (IBNS) Vancouver chapter is slated for Jan. 26.

To be held via Zoom, the meeting is open to both members and non-members. While registrants will receive a meeting link on Jan. 23, non-members can attend the virtual meeting by contacting info@northshorenumismaticsociety.org to request the sign-in details.

Attendees are invited to sign in at 6:30 p.m. (PT), with the meeting set to begin half an hour later.

Mike Souza, president of Vancouver’s North Shore Numismatic Society (NSNS), will give a presentation entitled “The Devil’s In the Details – Story of Canada’s Devil’s Face Banknotes,” which was created by NSNS Vice-President Gene Simms.

Attendees will also be invited to discuss the IBNS Vancouver chapter’s future virtual meetings. The Vancouver group is the IBNS’ first Canadian chapter.

Founded in 1961, the IBNS is an international club serving collectors and researchers of worldwide banknotes with nearly 30 chapters.
