Engel to speak at third NNP Symposium

Canadian collector Howard Engel, the Winnipeg-based owner of Richard Stockley Books, is one of more than two dozen speakers slated for the third Newman Numismatic Portal (NNP) Symposium this October.

The free virtual event will take place from Oct. 15-17 with presentations scheduled to run each day between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. (ET).

Engel’s presentation, whose date and time are still to be announced, is entitled, “Highlights from the Top 200 Nominees for the 100 Greatest Works of U.S. Numismatic Literature, Revisited.” He will explore some of the 100 greatest works of numismatic literature as voted by readers of the Asylum, the official publication of the Numismatic Bibliomania Society, in 2009.

Engel bought long-time literature dealer Richard Stockley’s book business in 2019 before moving the operation from Senneville, Qué., to his hometown of Winnipeg.
