The coin and stamp show, held at the Hilton Mississauga on April 6-7, boasted a remarkable turnout, particularly on opening day, with a substantial influx of collectors filling the expansive 9,100 sq. ft. ballroom throughout the day.
Over the weekend, more than 50 dealers from across Canada enjoyed a steady stream of collectors at the spring edition of the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show, organized by Canadian Coin News and Canadian Stamp News.
The two-day live numismatic auction, led by Colonial Acres, saw spirited bidding, surpassing pre-sale estimates on numerous lots. For comprehensive auction results, refer to the article on page 30
Additionally, approximately 25 children participated in Sunday’s popular Youth Auction and Workshop, sponsored by the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association and the show organizers. See story on page 6.
Brenda Hoyles of C. Frank Hoyles expressed satisfaction with the attendance and sales, noting a significant increase in purchases compared to last year. She remarked, “Both the coin people and the stamp people were pleased with the attendance and the sales. Beautiful! The people who were coming were buying.”
Mike Wilson of New Brunswick’s Mike’s Coins shared his contentment, stating, “I have no complaints whatsoever. Everyone thought it was very well attended. It was orderly, customers flowed in seamlessly, and although it got quite warm at one point due to the large number of attendees, that’s hardly a complaint!” Wilson added, “At how many coin shows do you see over 100 people waiting in line for the doors to open at ten?”
