CCN offered a limited-edition hand-poured silver rounder to welcome collectors back to this April’s National Postage Stamp & Coin Show, the first in 31 months.
CCN partnered with Ontario’s John Masterson, the owner of Beaver Bullion, who designed and produced the one-ounce “Smile” rounder with a mintage of only 25 pieces. One side depicts a smiley face in the centre surrounded by the phrase “N.P.S.C.S. RETURNS!” and the 2022 year-date.
Some rounders remain available to collectors. To purchase one, contact CCN at info@trajan.ca or 1-905-646-7744.
The April 9-10 event, hosted by CCN parent company Trajan Publishing, marked the first National Postage Stamp & Coin Show since 2019 following a two-year pandemic hiatus (“‘Well-oiled machine back again’ as National Show returns,” Vol. 60 #3).
The Smile rounder does not belong to the series CCN launched in 2017 with an issue celebrating Canada’s sesquicentennial. That three-piece series also included issues marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War in 2018 and then the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 2019.
