Blackman receives RCNA Fellow honour

While Judy Blackman, of Kitchener, Ont., was unable to attend this summer’s Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) Convention in Halifax, N.S., fellow numismatists Scott Douglas and Bob Fritsch accepted on her behalf the prestigious Fellow of the RCNA honour.

This August, another group of numismatists met to present the Fellow certificate and medal to Blackman in person.

“I am very honoured to be inducted as a Fellow of the RCNA,” Blackman said. “The citation is over-generous in praise; I am humbled, and I am happy I’ve been able to serve the numismatic community. I hope more folks will become involved in organized numismatics. The friendships you develop are very rewarding.”

Established in 1990, the RCNA fellowship inducts up to five members annually for performing “a worthy service judged to be of a direct benefit to the association.”
