2018 RCNA Convention coming to Mississauga

The 2017 convention of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) came to a close earlier this week, but officials are already looking ahead to next year’s big show.

This year’s RCNA Convention, held July 18-23 in Boucherville, Qué., was organized by host club l’Association des Numismates et des Philatélistes de Boucherville (ANPB).

The 2018 convention is slated for later in the year—from Aug. 7-11—at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale on 6750 Mississauga Rd. in Mississauga, Ont. The five-day show will be held in the hotel’s 9,000-square-foot Graydon Hall, which is located on the main floor.

The hotel is located near Highway 401 and Highway 407 and is only 20 minutes from downtown Toronto.

For more information or to book a room, call the hotel at 1-905-821-1981.

FAMILIAR VENUE

Frequent show-goers and members of the RCNA will remember the venue—formerly known as the Delta Mississauga—from the 2014 RCNA Convention. Hilton acquired the hotel a few years ago and has since made many renovations.

The Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale hotel is also the home of the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show, which is organized by Trajan Media, publisher of CCN. The next National Postage Stamp and Coin Show is slated for Oct. 28-29.

LOOKING BEYOND

Looking beyond next year, Canada’s massive numismatic extravaganza will be taking us to western Canada.

The 2019 RCNA Convention is scheduled for July 16-20 in Calgary, Alta. More information will be available in the coming months.
