$2K reward for missing Victoria 50 cents

A 1900 Victoria 50-cent coin certified by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) is missing and “suspected stolen,” according to a May 31 email alert sent out by the Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers (CAND).

The 1900 coin is certified as Mint State-63 by PCGS with certificate number “34608619.”

“It may reappear with its toning removed but the coin is uniquely identifiable with its multiple scratches in Victoria’s cheek,” reads the CAND alert. “Although we don’t have all of the details it is suspected stolen.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Lighthouse Numismatics, in Halifax, N.S., at 1-902-452-8131. There is a $2,000 reward for the coin’s safe return.
