The South Wellington Coin Society (SWCS) will welcome six presenters to its monthly meetings in the second half of 2018.
This July, the club’s “good friend” Ron Cheek will returning to discuss Nicaragua coinage. The following month, SWCS member Peter Becker will speak about the Canadian Centennial Collector’s Club. In September, Norm Belsten will highlight last year’s sesquicentennial celebrations, known as Canada 150.
This October, conservator Patty Whan, of the Wellington County Museum and Archives, will visit the club for a presentation. The following month, Dave Mowat, of the Guelph Historical Society, will speak on the Klondike gold rush and the significant roles his family played throughout the late 19th-century migration.
Rounding out the year’s presentations is SWCS member, Ontario Numismatic Association past president and Casino Collectible News editor Robb McPherson, who will speak about casino collectibles.
