WINNIPEG, Man. – The 2026 Royal Canadian Numismatic Association Convention moves into a full day of public activity today, July 16, with the opening of the dealer bourse, competitive exhibits, educational sessions, auction viewing and evening events across the RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg and the Delta Hotel.
The day begins early with dealer and exhibit setup from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Hall A South at the RBC Convention Centre. Competitive judging begins at 8:30 a.m., while the first session of the RCNA Educational Symposium runs from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. in the Charleswood A room at the Delta.
The registration desk will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Hall A South. Registered convention participants will also have access to a one-hour preview of the bourse and exhibits from 9 to 10 a.m., before the floor officially opens to the public.
Opening ceremonies are scheduled from 9:45 to 10 a.m. on the bourse floor, followed by the public opening at 10 a.m.
Public admission to the bourse is $8.
The bourse, which is the convention’s main dealer marketplace, will remain open until 5:30 p.m. Visitors will be able to browse coins, banknotes, medals, tokens, numismatic books and collecting supplies offered by dealers from across Canada and beyond. The competitive exhibits will also be available for viewing throughout the day.
The Canadian Numismatic Company will hold auction lot viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Hall A South. The firm’s first auction session begins at 6 p.m. and will be conducted online only, with no live floor bidding.
The RCNA Youth Table will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. on the bourse floor, offering young collectors an opportunity to learn more about the hobby and take part in convention activities.
Educational programming continues during the afternoon with the second session of the RCNA Educational Symposium, scheduled from 1:15 to 5 p.m. in Charleswood A.
Other activities include the RCNA Judges Breakfast, a Spousal Coffee & Connect gathering, and the Canadian Paper Money Society executive meeting.
The convention hospitality room will also be open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fort Garry room for registered attendees, bourse dealers and dealer assistants. A convention badge is required for admission.
The day concludes with the Canadian Association for Numismatic Education reception from 6 to 9 p.m. in Delta B. The reception provides an opportunity for convention attendees to learn more about CAFNE’s work supporting educational programs, research and numismatic initiatives across Canada.
