Diverse dealer lineup set for inaugural Welland Coin Show

Collectors and members of the public will find a diverse lineup of dealers at the inaugural Welland Coin Show, presented by Canadian Coin News this Saturday, Oct. 3.

The show brings together dealers offering Canadian and worldwide coins, banknotes, medals, tokens, precious metals and other collectibles, with material available for collectors of all interests and budgets. Dealers will also be on hand to buy and appraise collections and individual items brought to the show.

Among the specialists attending is Banknote Certification Service Ltd. (BCS) of Kitchener, Ont., a Canadian grading and certification service specializing in Canadian paper money.

The National Croatian Home, located at 6 Broadway Ave. in Welland, will host the inaugural Welland Coin Show, presented by Canadian Coin News, this Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The venue offers plenty of free parking for show visitors. Admission is only $5. Youth under 16 are free.

Dealer Dave Sharpe will also be attending and says he plans to have an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer on hand. The equipment can determine the metal composition of an item, and Sharpe plans to offer testing at no charge for visitors who have coins, bullion or other items and are uncertain about their metal content.

Niagara Gold Buyer will add a local precious-metals presence to the dealer floor, joining a broad mix of established dealers from Niagara and elsewhere in Ontario.

Dealers attending include Andy Grecco; B & W Coin & Tokens; Banknote Certification Service Ltd. (BCS); Campbell’s Collectables; Canadian Coin News – CoinStampSupplies; Certified Coins of Canada; Classic Coin & Banknote; Common Cents; D. Dunn; Dave Sharpe; Flip A Coin; Jerry Lemick; JFP Coins; King Coin Bank; Londinium Coins; Niagara Gold Buyer; Nigel Mackey; Numisnation Coin Store Inc.; Toronto Coin Shop; and Woodstock Gold & Silver.

Canadian Coin News and CoinStampSupplies will also have a selection of coin-collecting supplies available for purchase.

The wide-ranging dealer lineup is intended to appeal not only to established collectors looking to add to their collections, but also to newcomers and people who have inherited a collection or have old coins and banknotes tucked away at home. Visitors are encouraged to bring their material to the show, where dealers can help identify items, provide appraisals and, in many cases, make offers to purchase.

The inaugural Welland Coin Show takes place Saturday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Croatian National Home, 6 Broadway Ave., Welland. Admission is $5, with plenty of free parking. Door prizes will be offered throughout the day, and a lunch bar will be available.
