Two different shows, one big Sunday for collectors

Collectors in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas will have two very different show experiences to choose from this Sunday, as both a long-running club event and a large-scale mall-based collectibles expo take place on the same day.

The Mississauga Coin & Stamp Show, hosted by the Troyak Club, will be held Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the John Paul II Polish Cultural Centre, 4300 Cawthra Rd., south of Hwy. 403, Mississauga, Ont. The one-day show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with admission set at $7 and free parking available.

Featuring 60 tables and more than 30 dealers, the Mississauga event will offer a traditional bourse atmosphere focused on numismatics and philately. Collectors can expect Canadian and world coins, Royal Canadian Mint issues, gold and silver bullion, medals, tokens, banknotes, stamps, postcards and hobby supplies. The show also provides opportunities to buy, sell, trade and obtain appraisals.

Additional details are available at www.troyakclub.com/shows. Dealer inquiries can be directed to Les Plonka at 416-505-7999 or leszekp@rogers.com.

Meanwhile, Hamilton will host a much larger and broader-based collectibles event with COLLECTEX at Lime Ridge Mall, 999 Wentworth St., in the former Hudson’s Bay store space.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Early Bird admission begins at 9:30 a.m. and is $10. Regular admission is free.

Organizers describe COLLECTEX as a 500-table show designed to bring multiple collecting communities together under one roof in a high-traffic retail environment. In addition to stamps and coins, the show will feature sports cards, comics, medals, vinyl records, vintage guitars and other pop-culture and historical collectibles.

By staging the event inside a major shopping mall, promoters hope to reach not only established collectors but also the general public, potentially introducing new participants to hobbies such as numismatics and philately.

COLLECTEX is being organized by Bill Longley, who can be reached at 905-690-3598 or bill@longleyauctions.com. Updates are available through the event’s Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/collectexcanada/.

Canadian Coin News, Canadian Stamp News along with coinstampsupplies.com will be attending both shows.

Together, the two events highlight the variety of show formats now seen in Ontario, from focused club-run bourses serving dedicated collectors to expansive, multi-category expos aimed at engaging a broader audience, all taking place this Sunday.
