The Royal Canadian Mint’s Opulence Collection has returned for 2025 with a new pairing of jewelled showpieces that push the high-end series further into the territory of art object than conventional collector coin.
Conceived as a fusion of luxury jewellery and numismatic design, the Opulence line is built around extremely low mintages, high-value precious metals and Canadian-sourced gems. The 2025 instalment introduces Brilliance, a 10-ounce platinum coin, and Radiance, a one-ounce gold companion piece. Both are set with fancy yellow diamonds from the Ekati mine in the Northwest Territories, with the stones cut and polished by Crossworks Manufacturing Ltd. of Vancouver.
The 2025 Pure Platinum Coin – Brilliance is struck in 10 ounces of 99.95 per cent platinum. Designed by Canadian artists Chris Reid and Rosina Li, its reverse centres on the Canada lily (Lilium canadense) in a floral arrangement that combines selective gold plating with jewelled elements.
A total of 23 fancy yellow diamonds – 14 pear cut and nine round cut – are set into the design. Seven form the centre of the largest bloom, surrounded by eight additional engraved and gem-set lilies shown in different stages of growth. The worldwide mintage is limited to only 10 pieces, underscoring the ultra-scarce positioning of the Opulence line. It retails for $127,999.95.

Radiance, the 2025 Pure Gold Coin, continues the collection’s jewelled theme in one ounce of 99.99 per cent pure gold. Designed by Canadian artist Simon Ng, the reverse features a stylized Canada lily rendered as a jewellery motif: six marquise-cut fancy yellow diamonds form the petals around a round white diamond at the centre.
This floral centrepiece rests on an engraved sunburst pattern inspired by a compass star. Along the outer edge, four sun-like flowers, each set with a round white diamond, echo the central motif and reinforce the collection’s focus on light, luxury and intricate craftsmanship. The gold coin has a worldwide mintage of 30. It retails for $38,999.95.
Both Opulence coins share the obverse effigy of King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati and are housed in matte black wood cases produced by Quebec manufacturer Manubois, adding to the presentation associated with the series.
The fancy yellow diamonds used for the 2025 issues are sourced from Ekati, Canada’s first surface and underground diamond mine. For more than 27 years, Ekati has been known primarily for ethically produced, high-quality white diamonds, with yellow and especially fancy yellow stones representing only a small share of its output. Their use on Brilliance and Radiance adds another layer of rarity to the already limited-mintage Opulence Collection pieces.
The Mint is offering the 2025 Opulence coins through its website.
