Hamilton Coin Society

Revived in 2019 by several longtime Ontario Numismatic Association (ONA) members, the Hamilton Coin Society (HCS) traces its roots to the Hamilton Coin Club (HCC), founded in August 1952 by Eugene Culp and fellow collectors.
The original club's 16 charter members initially met at the downtown YMCA before relocating to the Wentworth Arms Hotel in 1956. The HCC hosted Canadian Numismatic Association conventions in 1957, 1961, 1974, 1984 and 1994, along with the ONA convention in 1979. The club also held annual coin shows for many years.
