A trio of Chinese bullion coins realized $60,000 altogether at the May 3-4 Toronto Coin Expo Sale by Geoffrey Bell Auctions.

Three Chinese bullion coins highlighted the two-session, 1,213-lot sale hosted by New Brunswick’s Geoffrey Bell Auctions in conjunction with Toronto Coin Expo this May. Collector discovers error identifying Loon designers

The 1997 Flying Loon reverse design (left) features the same designer’s mark as the 2002 ‘15th Anniversary of the Loon Dollar’ coin (reverse shown right), but every reference, including the Royal Canadian Mint website, credits different designers.

A long-standing error was recently discovered by Jim MacKenzie, editor of the Saskatoon Coin Club website. Counterfeit pre-Confederation tokens not a ‘big deal’

A counterfeit 1852 Quebec Bank one-penny token was recently offered on eBay.

RCM sues Australian Mint over patent infringement

According to court documents filed in December 2017, the Royal Australian Mint used a printing method patented by the Royal Canadian Mint on its 2012-dated $2 commemorative Remembrance Day coin.

An 1890H 50 cents ‘Obverse 4’ is expected to bring $100,000-$110,000 at the February Torex auction hosted by The Canadian Numismatic Auction Company.
