Collectors from across Canada and beyond converged in Calgary from July 15–19 for the 2025 Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) Convention—an extraordinary event that celebrated the 75th anniversaries of both the RCNA and its host, the Calgary Numismatic Society (CNS).
Held at the Calgary Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre, the convention offered five full days of numismatic programming, exhibits, and a record packed bourse floor. Marking the RCNA’s return to Calgary for the first time since 2019, the convention welcomed hundreds of collectors, dealers, and researchers to one of the largest RCNA bourses in recent years. Educational sessions, specialty club meetings, auctions, and youth programming rounded out the schedule, reinforcing the RCNA’s mission to inspire collectors of all ages.
Special moments included the ceremonial cake cutting at the opening reception, a standout coin grading workshop led by Robert Forbes, and the annual CAFNE fundraising reception held at the Nickle Galleries—home to one of Canada’s most extensive numismatic libraries. Commemorative medals, souvenirs, and historical memorabilia helped connect attendees with the RCNA’s rich legacy.
With strong dealer support, packed seminars, and a warm spirit of celebration, this year’s RCNA Convention was more than just a milestone—it was a reaffirmation of the vitality and fellowship that continue to drive Canadian numismatics.
