Bidding opens for London Coin Centre’s September auction

The London Coin Centre has announced its upcoming Coin & Banknote Auction, with pre-bidding now open ahead of the live sessions scheduled for Sept. 12 and 13.

The sale features a wide range of Canadian material, including silver and nickel coinage, banknotes, tokens and medals, alongside an impressive selection of international coins and exonumia. Collectors will also find a substantial offering of merchant and colonial tokens, a specialty area for many Canadian buyers.

“This auction brings together quality material across several collecting fields, giving participants opportunities to fill key gaps or upgrade pieces in their collections,” organizers noted.

Canadian Coin News readers will recognize the London Coin Centre as one of Ontario’s long-established full-service dealers, known for its broad inventory and regular public auctions. This sale continues that tradition, offering more than a thousand lots across two days.

Highlights include sought-after Canadian coins in better grades, popular chartered banknotes, and a diverse mix of exonumia reflecting Canada’s rich commercial history. With offerings spanning from the 19th century to modern issues, the auction promises something for both seasoned collectors and newcomers.

The full catalogue is available through the London Coin Centre’s website.
