Collectors from across southern Ontario and beyond will converge on Mississauga this weekend as the National Postage Stamp & Coin Show returns Sept. 12-13 with more than 60 professional dealers, an auction, youth activities and thousands of collectibles under one roof.
Presented by Canadian Coin News and Canadian Stamp News, the twice-annual show takes over the 9,000-square-foot Graydon Ballroom at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale.
The bourse opens Saturday at 10 a.m., giving collectors seven hours to search through Canadian and worldwide coins, banknotes, stamps, covers, postal history, postcards, tokens, medals, bullion and other collectibles. A wide selection of collecting supplies will also be available.
Material on the bourse will range from affordable pieces for newcomers to important coins, stamps and other collectibles for advanced specialists.
Just as importantly, dealers throughout the show will be buying as well as selling. Collectors can bring material from home to discuss with experienced dealers, whether they are considering selling individual pieces, an entire collection or simply want to learn more about what they own.
Among the veteran numismatists at this weekend’s show will be Frank Leardi of Frank Leardi Coins, whose involvement in Canadian numismatics stretches back more than four decades.
Leardi was already active in organized numismatics by 1981 and has long specialized in Canadian and Newfoundland decimal coinage, including key dates and high-grade material. His participation gives collectors an opportunity to deal directly with someone who has watched the Canadian coin market develop over several decades.
“The real strength of the National Show is the dealers who come together in one room,” said show organizer Mike Walsh. “Whether someone is looking for a particular coin or stamp, wants to sell material or is simply interested in learning more about their collection, they can sit down and talk directly with people who know the hobby.”
The show is designed to serve both sides of the collecting community. Numismatists will find Canadian and world coins, banknotes, tokens, medals and bullion, while philatelists can search through Canadian and worldwide stamps, covers and postal history.
AUCTION SATURDAY
St. George Auctions will also be part of the weekend as the National Show’s official auction service.
Its 311-lot fall auction includes Canadian coins across numerous dates, denominations and grades. Featured material includes a 1936 Canadian 50-cent piece graded PCGS MS-64 and pedigreed to the Victoria Collection, a 1937 matte specimen cent graded ICCS SP-67 Red and a 1933 10-cent piece graded PCGS MS-66.
Several lots also carry pedigrees to important collections, including Norweb, Stewart Blay, John Jay Pittman and James E. Charlton.
Collectors can view auction lots in person at the show before bidding. The online auction begins at 6 p.m. ET Saturday, with successful bidders able to pick up their purchases at the show Sunday.
CRIME STOPPERS RETURNS
Peel Crime Stoppers returns to the National Show this weekend, along with police partners expected to attend.
Their presence gives collectors and dealers an opportunity to discuss crime prevention and security, increasingly important issues for a hobby involving valuable and easily transportable material.
Crime Stoppers made its National Show debut in September 2025 following the release of a TIPS podcast on counterfeit coins featuring counterfeit-coin expert and longtime Canadian Coin News contributor Mike Marshall.
SUNDAY FOR YOUTH
Sunday will put an added emphasis on the next generation of collectors with the return of the show’s popular free Youth Auction at 1 p.m.
Children under 16 receive free auction money to bid on real coins, stamps, banknotes and collecting supplies — and everything they win is theirs to keep at no cost.
Participants should register by 12:45 p.m. Parents accompanying children participating in the Youth Auction will also be admitted free.
A dedicated Youth Table will be available during the show with collecting material and activities for young and beginning collectors.
“We want serious collectors to have a great show, but we also want a youngster coming through the doors for the first time to discover why collecting can be so much fun,” Walsh said. “That is an important part of building the future of both hobbies.”

The National Postage Stamp & Coin Show takes place Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale, 6750 Mississauga Rd., near Highway 401.
Saturday hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with admission $6.
Sunday hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with admission reduced to $3.
Children under 16 are admitted free, and parking at the Hilton is complimentary.
