The Royal Canadian Mint’s June collector lineup shines a spotlight on the many stories that help define Canada, with new releases celebrating cultural diversity, Indigenous traditions, national parks and Canadian pride.
The Mint’s latest offerings explore different facets of Canadian identity through a mix of collector coins and bullion products.
Leading the June releases are companion silver and gold issues in the Mint’s Celebrating Canada’s Diversity series. This year’s coins honour Filipino Canadians and their contributions to Canada’s cultural and social landscape, incorporating traditional Filipino-inspired imagery and mother-of-pearl elements.
Indigenous heritage is featured on the latest coin in the Mint’s Clan Animals series. The new issue depicts Mukwa (the Bear), an important figure in Anishinabek teachings, and was designed by Mark Nadjiwan of Neyaashiinigmiing Unceded First Nation near Owen Sound, Ont.
Canada’s natural beauty is showcased on the newest coin in the Mint’s Canada’s National Parks series. The selectively coloured issue features Kluane National Park and Reserve in Yukon, home to some of the country’s most spectacular mountain scenery, including Mount Logan and the world’s largest non-polar icefields.
Rounding out the June lineup is a one-ounce .9999 fine silver bullion bar presented in special “Proudly Canadian” packaging featuring maple leaves and Canada’s national colours.
Together, the releases reflect the Mint’s ongoing efforts to tell Canadian stories through coins and precious-metal products, celebrating the country’s people, landscapes and shared values.
Canadian Coin News will feature detailed coverage of each release, including specifications, mintages, designs and collector information, in an upcoming print edition.
