The Royal Canadian Mint’s October lineup showcases a rich mix of storytelling and craftsmanship – from ghostly folklore and remembrance tributes to heritage art, heraldic design and precious-metal brilliance.
Among the highlights is Haunted Canada: Lady in White, a $20 fine-silver coin capturing Québec’s tragic Montmorency Falls legend, where Mathilde Robin’s spirit is said to haunt the mist. Under black light, her ghostly form appears, adding an eerie twist to the popular supernatural series. It is available at coinstampsupplies.com.
The Mint also continues its tradition of honouring service and sacrifice with the $20 Remembrance Day coin, featuring engraved poppies and one coloured bloom licensed by the Royal Canadian Legion – a symbol of remembrance 110 years after In Flanders Fields was written.
Art lovers will appreciate Baffin Island Mountains by Lawren S. Harris, a sculpted fine-silver tribute to the famed Group of Seven painter, while heraldry collectors can look forward to the Heraldic Lion, the 2026 follow-up to last year’s sold-out Heraldic Bear, modelled in extraordinarily high relief.
Other standouts include the steampunk-inspired A Whimsical Tale – Steam Locomotive, the multifaceted-engraved $200 Gold Maple Leaves, and several Treasured Maple Leaf bullion issues in silver and gold – each blending artistry with innovation in true Mint fashion.
Full technical details, mintages and images appear in the next issue of Canadian Coin News (V63N16) – available in print and digital formats on Oct. 16.
