The Canadian Numismatic Resources (CNR) website has surpassed 1,000 uploaded documents—and continues to grow. The digital archive, launched in 2023, offers free access to digitized articles, journals, books, reports and manuscripts related to numismatics and monetary history via its website, cnr-rnc.ca.
All materials are presented in the language in which they were written or published. The latest additions include several issues of Nadin-Davis International price lists and auction catalogues, the final issues from the 2000s to complete the run of the City of Ottawa Coin Club Bulletin, and more back issues of the Atlantic Numismatist.
“Without impinging on copyright laws, the CNR website’s mission is to digitize and make available to all Internet users Canadian numismatic content that is otherwise obsolete, out of print or not readily accessible through libraries or other public institutions,” said David Bergeron of Ottawa, secretary of the J. Douglas Ferguson Historical Research Foundation and the CNR’s lead coordinator. Bergeron also serves as the Bank of Canada’s curator for the National Currency Collection.
