The Week in Shows (Nov. 6-12)

Today is the final day of Canada’s largest combined coin and stamp show, Nuphilex, which is being hosted at Complex EVO on 420 Sherbooke St. W., in Montreal, Que. The show will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is free.

EDMONTON

Today is also the final day of Canada’s largest fall and winter numismatic event, the Edmonton Coin Show and Sale, which is being hosted by the Edmonton Numismatic Society at the Howard Johnson Hotel on 15540 Stony Plain Rd., in Edmonton, Alta. The bourse will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and admission is $5 (although children under 16 years old are free).

QUEBEC

Later this week, on Nov. 12-13, Postalia Quebec is coming to SCFP on 5100 Boul. Des Gradins, in Quebec, Que. The show opens at 10 a.m. both days and will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Upwards of 30 numismatic and philatelic dealers will be attending the show with a selection of currency, stamps, postcards, and postal history. Several exhibitors will also be exhibiting some of their collections. Admission and parking are free.

In the early 2000s, Postalia—an association consisting of The Philatelic Society of Quebec; The Postal History Society of Quebec; The Society of Quebec Numismatists; The Club of Quebecers Cartophiles; and Saturdays Stamp of the Quebec Federation of Philately—replaced the Collectors Fair and philatelic exhibition held every two years. Postalia is now held each spring and fall.
