The Week in Shows (April 30-May 6)

There are five major coin shows on the docket this week.

First up is the Expo Multi-Collections de Rimouski, which is hosting its final day today at Hôtel Rimouski on 225 René Lepage Est. in Rimouski, Que. The show features more than 50 tables of merchants and exhibitors of coins, stamps, postcards, sports cards and other material. The bourse will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is free.

BRAMPTON, ONT.

Also taking place today is the Rotary Club of Brampton Coin and Trading Card Show at the the Century Gardens Recreation Centre on 340 Vodden Rd. E. in Brampton, Ont. Collectors are invited to buy, sell, trade and appraise at more than 40 tables, including a children’s table. The bourse will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is $3 (although childer aged 14 or younger are free). Parking is free.

Funds raised from the show go to children’s charities. The event is sponsored by B&W Coins and Tokens and the Rotary Club of Brampton.

AJAX, ONT.

Today is also the Ajax Pickering Stamp and Coin Show, Apex 2017, which is being held at the Pickering Recreation Complex on 1867 Valley Farm Rd., Pickering, Ont. Hosted by the Ajax-Pickering Stamp Club, the show will be open from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

GUELPH, ONT.

Later this week, on May 6, the Guelph Spring Coin Show will be held at Colonel John McCrae Legion Branch 234 on 57 Watson Pkwy. S. in Guelph, Ont. Sponsored by the South Wellington Coin Society, which just celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this month, the show will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and admission is $3 (although children aged 16 or younger are free). Parking is free.

The bourse is slated to be filled with more than 35 dealer tables of coins, banknotes, tokens, Canadian Tire money, medals, books and supplies from some of Canada’s top numismatic dealers. There will also be a club-sponsored children’s table on the bourse for collectors under the age of 14. Organizers will also host a free draw for a gold coin.

LAVAL, QUE.

Rounding out the week in shows is Premier Salon Exposition du Club de Monnaie Laval Rive-Nord, which is being held at College Citoyen on 4001 Boul Ste-Rose in Laval, Que. This first annual exhibition and bourse is organized by the Club de monnaie Laval and Rive-Nord. The show will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission as well as parking are free.
