Latest Australian ‘Koala’ coin issued

The Perth Mint has released its 2022 one-ounce gold high-relief “Koala” coin.

Struck from 99.99 per cent gold in proof quality, the coin features Australia’s loved marsupial, the koala, and is Australian legal tender. The coin’s worldwide mintage is 200.

The reverse design portrays a sleepy koala nestled on the branches of a eucalyptus tree. The inscription “KOALA,” the mint’s traditional “P” mintmark, the 2022 year-date plus the weight and purity are also included in the design. Jody Clark’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on the obverse.

Each coin is presented in a timber display case and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity
