Original CCN consultant, long-time ANA official up for re-election

Former CCN consultant and past president of the American Numismatic Association (ANA) Clifford Mishler is one of nine people vying for seven governor positions with the U.S.-based national hobby organization.

Also a former CEO of Krause Publications (the long-running publishing firm created by CCN founder and late Wisconsinite Chet Krause), Mishler is a long-time supporter of Canadian numismatics. A regular attendee of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) Convention, Mishler received the RCNA President’s Award in 2014 for his widespread promotion of the hobby.

He’s a resident of Iola, Wisc., where Krause also lived before his death in 2016.

In 2019, during the previous ANA election, Mishler received the most votes of the seven governors then elected to the association’s board.

This year, he’s up against Michael Ellis, Muriel Eymery, Mary Lynn Garrett, Mark Lighterman, Charles Morgan, Rob Oberth, Shanna Schmidt and Barry Stuppler.

Two people – Donald Kagin and Ralph Ross – are nominated for president, and Joseph Boling is the sole vice-presidential nominee.

Ballots will be mailed to all ANA members entitled to vote at the end of May. Members can either vote via mail or online using an e-ballot. Completed ballots must be received by July 1.

The winners will be installed at the ANA World’s Fair of Money, which opens on Aug. 10 in Chicago.
