The Canadian Association of Wooden Money Collectors (CAWMC) has mailed its annual holiday package of free woods.
“A big ‘Thank You’ goes out to all those considerate CAWMC members who have donated these woods so our entire membership can have one,” Ross Kingdon, who oversaw the association’s “Wood of the Month” program for nearly three decades, wrote in Timber Talk, the association’s official newsletter.
This year’s donors include CAWMC past president France Waychison, who also edits Timber Talk; Treasurer Al Munro, who’s also the group’s membership chair; directors Bob Fritsch and Dave Gillespie; plus members Lou Vesh, Jim Smith, Judy Blackman, John Hnatiuk and David Hnatiuk.
“If you are getting a wood made for future use, please consider a donation to our entire membership as we rely on these donations for future use,” added Kingdon.
A regular CAWMC membership for Canadian residents age 17 and older is $10, but youths age 16 and under can join for just $5. All members receive either a print or digital copy of each new Timber Talk while back issues are accessible in the association’s online archive.
