Hi Rosebud! The year 1961 sounds like the dime is made of silver, so there’s a plus. Is the coin in good shape? That’d be nice too, eh. You might see a coin, with the previous year underneath the current one, listed as something like “1960/1”, noting that it is a varietal.
So I wouldn’t spend it. I don’t know how rare a 1960/1 Canadian Dime is. I’ve personally only ever heard of one other dime like that, from the 1950s. I’m more into copper, and earlier 5-cent silver pieces (including Newfoundland!). Best of luck! –Barry, @ma.us
