Since the middle of the 18th century all documents of security such as banknotes, share certificates, passports, postage stamps and identification documents have all benefitted from the use of hand-engraved images or vignettes printed on fine quality papers by intaglio printing presses and using specialty inks.
These traditional elements survive in this age of rapid technological obsolescence, because they are based on unique skills which impart a look and “feel” that is universally recognized as being secure, genuine and authoritative.
Canadian Bank Note is now offering collectors the opportunity to purchase a series of these unique masterpieces.

These historical vignettes are printed on exclusive watermark paper manufactured especially for Canadian Bank Note, containing special security fibres using intaglio inks manufactured by Canadian Bank Note Company. Each vignette is approximately 4″ x 6″ (10.2cm x 15.3cm) and mounted on an 8.5″ x 10″ (21.5cm x 25.4cm) grey matte ready for framing.
The vignettes are also available unmounted in limited quantities and printed on cream-coloured Vellum Bristol paper. Click here for a list of the available vignettes.
