Canada is well represented at this week’s World’s Fair of Money in Rosemont, Illinois.
“The theme of this year’s convention is Hands Across The Border and we believe our hobby has no numismatic borders,” said Walter Ostromecki, president of the 25,000 member American Numismatic Association (ANA).
“We join in the theme this year of holding the U.S. and Canadian conventions a week apart.”
The Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RNCA) is holding its 61st Convention next week, Aug. 13-16, in Mississauga.
“We will be carrying on the theme of Hands Across The Border as we invite the ANA and its members to join their fellow collectors in Canada in what promises to be an event-packed week of events aimed at collectors of all ages and interests,” said Bret Evans, president of the RCNA.
Several Canadian dignitaries were invited and participated in the ANA’s opening ceremony Aug. 5, including William Waychison, past president of the RCNA, and Dan Gosling, Paul Johnson, Bill Cross and Brett Irick.
