The Newman Numismatic Portal (NNP) has digitized and archived the catalogues of U.S.-based firm World Banknote Auctions.
Founded by Dennis Hengeveld, who moved from the Netherlands to the United States in 2011, World Banknote Auctions is “the only auction company in the United States solely dedicated to world paper money,” according to its website. The archive will provide notaphilists with reliable references, including values, for banknotes from around the world.
In the firm’s 35th world banknote sale, held on Dec. 4, the top-earning Canadian note was a 2012 $20 bill (BC-71b). Certified as Gem Uncirculated-66 by Paper Money Guaranty, which added its “Exceptional Paper Quality” designation, the note featured the Wilkins-Poloz signature combination, one of two for that issue. It brought $80.50 US (about $110 Cdn.).
