The Week in Shows (Jan. 22-28)

There are three major shows on the docket this week.

On Jan. 27-29, the Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers (CAND) Annual Show will be held at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel on 116 King St. W., in Hamilton, Ont. The bourse will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on 28 and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. the following day.

The show will feature several of its members selling and buying coins, banknotes, medals, tokens, jewelry, supplies and more. An auction will also be conducted by Jeffrey Hoare Auctions.

Admission is $4 (seniors only pay $2) on Jan. 28 and free on the following day. “Young collectors” are also granted free admission. A special show pass that provides the holder access to the Jan. 27 dealer set up as well as admission the following two days is available for $60.

CANADIAN TIRE COUPON COLLECTORS

Later this week, on Jan. 28, the Canadian Tire Coupon Collectors Club Show will be held at the Centre Communautaire Roussin on 12125 Notre Dame E., in Montreal, Que. The show—hosted by the Canadian Tire Coupon Collectors Club—will run from 9 a.m.-noon, and admission is free. Organizers are asking anyone to bring “extra coupons, gift cards or any other CTC items for trading or selling.”

OUT WEST

Also on Jan. 28, the Coin, Stamp and Collectibles Show will be held at the Nikkei Centre on 6688 Southoaks Cres., in Burnaby, B.C. Hosted by the North Shore Numismatic Society, the show will run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and include coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, stamps, postcards, art, pins and more. Free underground parking is available, and admission $2 (although children 16-and-under are free if accompanied by an adult).
