There are two major numismatic events concluding this week.
The first is the 46th annual New York International Numismatic Convention (NYINC), which opened on Jan. 11 and will close today. Among the highlights of the show was be the NYINC Auction hosted by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, which offered a 1921 50 cents—widely known as the “King of Canadian Coins”—as Lot 20065 of the sale’s third session. With a grade of Specimen-62 from the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), this lot realized $84,000 USD after a pre-sale estimate of $45,000 USD-$60,000 USD.

Today is also the final day of the 2018 Unipex Coin and Stamp Show, which is being held at Montecassino Hotel on 3710 Chesswood Dr. in North York, Ont. The 19th annual show is open today from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission and parking are free.
