The United States Mint will feature and sell a selection of its latest products, including the first public sales of the 2024 proof Morgan and Peace silver dollars, at the inaugural Great American Coin and Collectibles Show.
The event will be held at the Tampa, Florida Convention Center from Sept. 11-14. This new show is co-produced by Coin World magazine and Shepherd Expos Management.
On Sept. 12, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase the 2024 proof Morgan and Peace dollars, available while supplies last.
“We are excited that the United States Mint will participate in our inaugural event and offer two of the year’s most anticipated coins, the latest proof silver dollars featuring the iconic designs by George T. Morgan and Anthony DeFrancisci,” said Rick Amos, chairman of Amos Media, publisher of Coin World.
The Mint’s booth will also host “a special guest” daily. Bill the Buffalo, the costumed mascot, will distribute Youth Collector Kits and educational materials for children.
“In addition to the United States Mint’s significant participation, giving attendees the chance to see and purchase the Mint’s high-quality numismatic products in person, the show will feature over 700 dealers from across the country,” said Larry Shepherd, show manager.
Several notable exhibits are planned for the show. Details about the displays will be announced later, but Shepherd confirmed that, courtesy of GreatCollections, the show will feature the first Tampa display of the Eliasberg 1913 Liberty Head nickel (PCGS PR66 CAC), the finest known example of one of America’s most famous rare coins.
