The Week in Shows (May 27-June 2)

There are three shows on the numismatic docket this week.

Today is the 59th Annual Collectors Show, which is being held at Kent Theatre Chinese Culture Centre on 24 Cobourg St. in Saint John, N.B. Open from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., the show will boast nearly 30 tables of coins, stamps, sports cards and militaria as well as “several out of town dealers,” according to organizers. Children are admitted free of charge and will be given a small gift for attending.

Later this week, on June 2, the Coins, Stamps and Collectibles Show will be held at Nikkei Centre on 6688 Southoaks Cres. in Burnaby, B.C. Hosted by the North Shore Numismatic Society, the show will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and feature 40 tables of coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, stamps, postcards, art, pins and more. Admission is $2 (or free for children aged 16 and under if accompanied by an adult) and free underground parking is available.

Also on June 2, the Deuxième Salon and Exposition du Club de Monnaie Laval and Rive-Nord will be held at Collège Citoyen on 4001 Boul Ste-Rose in Laval, Qué. This is the second show organized by the Club de Monnaie Laval and Rive-Nord, the show is being held only 10 minutes north of Montréal and combines exhibitions and dealers specializing in coins, banknotes, tokens, medals and more. The show will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

NEXT WEEK

Next week, there will be one show: the Rotary Club of Brampton Coin and Trading Card Show will be held on June 3 in Brampton, Ont.
