The New York-based auction firm Stack’s Bowers Galleries will open its latest rare coin gallery in historic Boston, Mass., this fall.
Located in the heart of Boston’s financial district, the gallery will be led by Kevin Vinton, a U.S. coin expert with a lifelong interest in numismatics. After graduating from Illinois’ Wheaton College in 2009, Vinton worked for Sam Sloat Coins before founding Inde Et Lib, Numismatists, in 2013.
Vinton is a life member of the American Numismatic Association, the Colonial Coin Collectors Club, the non-profit organization Early American Coppers and several other organizations.
The Boston gallery will offer appraisals and bullion trading while allowing people to sell their coins and paper money or browse the firm’s inventory for purchases.
“This city and its collectors have been a mainstay to the history and success of our business, and we are proud to have a new home in Boston,” said Stack’s Bowers Galleries President Brian Kendrella.
This summer, Stack’s will also auction 1,500 American Silver Eagles – the official U.S. silver bullion coin – graded by Professional Coin Grading Service and signed by numismatist Q. David Bowers to commemorate the opening of the firm’s galleries in New York in 2020, Philadelphia in 2021 and Boston in 2022.
