The Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers (CAND) is set to host a live virtual seminar on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 7 p.m. EST, focusing on recent trends in organized crime affecting storefronts, coin shows, and shipping within the numismatic community.
The seminar will be led by Doug Davis, founder and president of the Numismatic Crime Information Center (NCIC), a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to assisting law enforcement in investigating numismatic crimes.
Established in 1987, the NCIC provides specialized investigative resources to law enforcement agencies at all levels, addressing the complexities of crimes targeting coin collectors and dealers. With decades of experience in law enforcement and numismatics, Davis has become a leading authority on the subject, offering training and support to combat numismatic-related crimes.
CAND invites both members and non-members, including coin show organizers, to participate in this informative webinar. Attendees will have the chance to submit questions during the session, which Michael Findlay, CAND president and moderator, will present to Doug Davis. Dealers with specific incidents or concerns are encouraged to submit them in advance, enabling Davis to address these issues directly in his presentation, ensuring a more relevant and engaging experience for participants.
