RCNA supports Moose Hide Campaign

The Royal Canadian Numismatic Association (RCNA) has lent its support to the Moose Hide Campaign, a grassroots movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians to raise awareness about violence towards women and children.

As part of the campaign, now in its 11th year, organizers issued free moose hide and animal-free patches, pins and information cards, all of which were available at this July’s RCNA Convention in Ottawa.

“There is a pin for anyone who wishes to take one free of charge, and this is in support of our Governor General’s priority of reconciliation,” RCNA President Steve Woodland said at the convention’s opening ceremony on July 22.

Since 2011, organizers have distributed more than three million pins, each of which generates roughly five conversations about ending violence – that’s 15 million altogether, according to the campaign website, moosehidecampaign.ca.
