RCM unveils April coin releases featuring Royal jewels, northern lights, and polar bear bullion

The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled its latest collector and bullion offerings for April 2025, showcasing a wide range of artistic and historically themed coins crafted in fine silver and pure gold.

Headlining this month’s releases is the second issue in the Mint’s Crown Jewels series, which spotlights the Williamson Diamond Brooch. Created around a rare pink diamond gifted to then-Princess Elizabeth by Canadian geologist John T. Williamson in 1947, the brooch is commemorated in two formats: a one-ounce fine silver coin priced at $174.95 with a mintage of 6,000 pieces, and a high-end pure gold coin adorned with pink tourmaline and diamonds, limited to just 225 pieces and retailing at $10,499.95.

Another standout release is Magic of the Northern Lights, a two-ounce fine silver coin that captures the Aurora Borealis in a full 360-degree forest scene. The coin includes a blacklight to enhance the northern lights effect and is offered at $259.95, with a limited mintage of 4,500.

The Mint also continues two popular series with new editions in both gold and silver. The Tall Ships series returns with a tribute to a three-masted schooner—engraved in fine detail and available in silver for $99.95 (15,000 mintage) and in gold for $2,799.95 (800 mintage). Meanwhile, the Majestic Polar Bear series advances its storyline, now depicting a grown cub in the wild. This year’s editions include both standard and “First Strikes” versions in one-ounce silver and one-tenth-ounce gold. Premium bullion pricing ranges from $84.95 to $599.95, depending on metal and mintage, which varies from 1,000 to 20,000 units.
