A 12-piece lot of assorted uncertified Canadian error coins topped $10,000 at an auction south of the border this March. The lot of unattributed errors included what auctioneers called 11 “intentionally assisted mint errors” plus one cent. The lot was sold “as is” with “no returns,” according to the lot description, which added the coins came from the Historical Scholar Collection, first offered by Heritage Auctions last September. In the sale on March 29-30, the group lot of errors brought $8,400 US (more than $11,300 Cdn.), including buyer’s premium, with more than 40 bids as Lot 65313.
